NEXT GENERATION & FUTURES  is dedicated to underserved youth and communities with a holistic focus across mind (education), body (health, wellness and athletics) and soul (mental health and cultural history) to prepare them for tech powered and brighter futures. 

 

Through community collaboration and partnerships, we aim to shape youth futures delivering information, knowledge and education across:

• ST.E.A.M. (Science Technology Engineering Arts and Mathematics).

• Food, Nutrition, Financial Empowerment & Literacy

• Youth Mentorship & Leadership

• New Media & Visual Arts with concentration on Video

• Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Career and Self-awareness with a focus on Real Estate Investing & Industries of the future. 

• Health, Wellness and Athletics in youth sports.  

 

We will lease the Cultural Experience Museum & Futures Hub at 25 Bough Street to anchor this work with collaborative partners. We believe the sum total of these parts need to be integrated to ensure holistic development of underserved youth. All of our programs will embed non-violence principles and conflict resolution across our pillars of focus. 

 

The outcome will transform lives across education, literacy and health in an increasingly global workforce.

Next Generation & Futures has operated virtually and will have permenanet home office and leverage the facilities at 25 Bough Street, Providence, Rhode Island in the Olneyville Section when complete.

To empower underserved BIPOC youth in New England through holistic, year-round programs that integrate STEAM education including AI and Automation, financial literacy and empowerment, athletics, health and wellness, entrepreneurship and innovation with mentorship. By fostering self-awareness, non-violence, and innovation, we aim to prepare youth for thriving futures in a global, tech-driven economy.  We believe the sum of all of these parts is needed to create resilient and future ready youth in a new normal and ever changing world.

We envision a future where every young person, regardless of background, has equitable access to the tools including digital and AI powered, knowledge, and support necessary to lead healthy, empowered lives and contribute meaningfully to their communities and the broader world.

The Olnevyille section within Providence, zip code 02909 was the most devastated by COVID-19 within the state of Rhode Island.  The same area and zip code has over 73% communities of color (61% Latino & 12% African-American). This under and sometimes unserved community has one of the lowest median household incomes across the entire state of Rhode Island.

 

There is a statewide recognition to the inequitable health outcomes, food deserts and lack of healthy choices in the area leading it to be a designated Health Equity Zone by the Rhode Island Department of Health. Life expectancies in the area are nine (9) years less than the rest of the state. Moreover, the area is a CRA (community reinvestment act) zone and one block from an opportunity zone.

 

It is directly here that Next Generation & Futures makes it home at 25 Bough Street, Providence, RI 02909  in a building which will be re-developed delivering impact in the heart of these realities.  We believe it is critical to blend the pillars of focus to truly get at the heart of change. Additionally, it must include some of what youth just naturally like to do along with principles like communication, conflict resolution, non-violence priniciples, STEAM and innovation focus and more.
